What is a Goal? A goal is a target, an objective of some kind that you wish to achieve. It could be something to do with a relationship, career, money, travel, your community etc. By having goals in our lives, it gives us something to focus on and to strive for. A goal is something that when we have achieved it, we will feel more satisfied and fulfilled.

Why achieve goals? Goals help us to be the best we can be in all areas in our lives. If we don’t have any goals in our lives, we are like a ship without a rudder. It is like we are walking aimlessly throughout life. The most important thing is that we have goals that feel true to us and our values. It is critical that we want to achieve the goal and that we are not doing it to please other people. By achieving goals, we increase our self-esteem and our confidence in ourselves. We grow as people by expanding our talents and skills. By having a goal or goals in your life, it can give us more purpose and meaning in your lives.

When to achieve a goal? Well the only time is now. The best time to start is now. Not tomorrow or the day after, or the day after that. Procrastination is one of the greatest obstacles to achieving any goal. How can we achieve any goal, if we don’t decide and start taking action towards that goal. It is not about just taking action for the sake of taking action. It is about taking inspired action and working smart. A good question to ask yourself, when you know what your goal is; “How can I achieve this now, easily and effortlessly?” and brainstorm 20 answers. Choose the 5 answers which would really help to achieve your goal easier and more effectively.

Who can help you to achieve your goal? Well the most important resource is You. In achieving any goal, it is important to also look at your network of friends, family and other contacts and see if any of these people could help you. These people may have knowledge, skills and contacts which would help you to create your goal. Other resources such as books, the internet and magazines can all be used as resources.

How can you achieve your goals?  Through complete belief and faith that you will achieve what you want to achieve, combined with persistance, determination and drive. It is only through your thoughts and the images in your mind which will determine your success and failure. If you have the complete belief that you will achieve your goal, there is a 99% possibility that you will achieve it, no matter how long it takes. The secret is really believing that you have achieved your goal now and that you are coming from that place of acting as if. Be grateful that what you want to create/achieve, has already been given to you – be in that place of owning or having that of which you wish to create……
