Energy Excitement Enthusiasm Passion

Imagine waking up every morning, full of energy, excitement and enthusiasm for your life. You have a spring in your step and a knowing that you are living the life that feels true for you. You see meaning and purpose in what you are doing and who you are being.

Sounds like a great place to be, doesn’t it?

It’s a place where I would love to be on a consistent basis, however the reality or truth is that I am not always feeling this way. 😦

Joseph Campbell has an inspiring quote which I would love to share with you ~

“If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”

I love it:)

And what is passion?

Passion for me is having a love or a zest for life and the things and people I am engaging with. It is having a high level of enthusiasm, energy and excitement for something that I feel connected to and feel good about. For me it could be things like music, writing on this blog, meditation, connecting with friends and family, traveling, going for a run, dancing, having fun etc.

When I am not passionate about something in my life, I can feel it all over my body. I lack enthusiasm and I just have this blahhh type of feeling that I just don’t really care. I lack the motivation to take action and feel that what I am doing, lacks meaning and purpose. It just feels like I am doing it against my will. Life is not joyous for me. I seem to lose the connection with the real me. I don’t feel fully alive.

I can see in my own life experience, that there have been situations, where I just haven’t been feeling the passion. A lot of these occasions were jobs that I was just going through the motions with. Often I would start off in these jobs with a high level of enthusiasm and motivation however after a while (usually a short time 🙂 ), my motivation and enthusiasm would wane. It is like the job did not make a statement of who I am and who I want to be in this world. I felt that I was compromising my values being in these jobs which I have been in for the sake of the pay check at the end of the month.

So how could you become more alive, passionate and excited in your life?

Well a few questions you could ask yourself are;

~ What do you love to do?

~ What do you want to do?

~ If you lived your life true to your values, how would you feel?

~ What would you do if you had no “shoulds” “musts” or “have tos” in your life?

~ When do you feel most connected to yourself?

~ When you are silent, what is the song of your soul?

~ What would it be like to say YES to life and all that it is?

~ What would your compelling future be like and why do you want it?

~ What would you do or who would you be if you believed that everything and anything is possible?

~ What people, things and places inspire and empower you and make you feel alive?

~ What would happen if you trusted and believed in the amazing person that you are and what you can offer this world?

Well as always I would love to hear any comments and feedback you may have….
